Treffen mit Tierschützern auf dem Universitätsplatz

Am Samstagnachmittag stand ein Treffen mit TierschützerInnen und AktivistInnen auf dem Universitätsplatz in Bukarest auf unserem Programm. Etwa 200 Menschen waren unserem Aufruf gefolgt. Die Polizei auch. Sie machte Video-Aufzeichnungen.
Wir überreichten der kleinen Sofia Agapi, die tapfer mit einem Protestschild schon in Brüssel vor dem Europa-Parlament gegen die Hundetötung in ihrer Heimat demonstriert hat, einen Stoffhund mit dem roten Halstuch und der Aufschrift YES WE CARE. Sie ist eine kleine Heldin und steht für die Jugend Rumäniens, die durch die grassierende Gewalt gegen die Straßentiere traumatisiert ist.
Später setzen wir uns zu einer Diskussionsrunde zusammen. In einer kurzen Rede stellten wir uns und unser Anliegen vor:
„Let me introduce ourselves and explain why we are here in Romania.
We are a delegation from a political party from Germany called Mensch Umwelt Tierschutz, Partidul Oameni Mediu Protectia animalelor
The emphasis of our political work is on animal protection and animal rights. Like in other countries, we have a lot of political parties, but none is concerned with/about the wellbeing of animals.
We hold the strong belief that animals like humans have the right to live and the right not to be harmed, abused, used, and as it is now in Romania being killed.
It has been proven for a long time that only programs called „catch, neuter, release“ can solve the problem of stray dogs. The government of Romania has chosen to kill, not for the first time. Stray dogs were killed before and the problems concerning the large dog population was never solved by this method.
Romania is a partner-state of the European Union. Our countries are friends and it is a terrible thing to acknowledge that in our neighbor-country our beliefs and our feelings towards animals are ignored, are stepped on with feet. And we know that many Romanian people feel the same way.
The last few months many people sent e-mails, letters, made phone calls to our party and begged us to do something. To stop the killing, to stop the cruel treatment of innocent dogs.
Dogs are on this planet because human beings wanted dogs. They were domesticated from wolves. They are only here because we wanted them. And since they are existent we have the responsibility to take care of them. Taking care surely does not mean to kill them!
In Germany the most beloved animals are cats. On the second place are dogs. Many Germans feel that dogs are family-members. They are almost children. And in Romania these children are starved to death, die of thurst, are beaten to death, electroexecuted, poisoned, and this is all called euthanasia? Many many Germans suffer, are traumatized, have lost their joy of life because this is happening in a neighbor-country. Many have developed psychological disorders, depressions, others are full of anger that our ethical and moral beliefs are disregarded, are ignored, are stamped on with feet.
There were many many demonstrations in various German cities for the Romanian dogs. Many dogs have been brougt to Germany. I myself have taken 7 Romanian dogs, hopefully making space for 7 others to be held in a safe place. But this is not the solution.
We are here to show the Romanian dog lovers, that we fight with them against this cruel and useless method. We want to highten the pressure on the Romanian government to end this nightmare. It is disgusting and not worthy of a nation that wants to be part of the European Union. Stop the killing. Stop this machinery of moneyflow to companies that earn money with cruelty. Start being a country that holds civilized moral standards.
I know that most Romanians share our point of view. 78 percent are against the killings. I have met wonderful people in Romania. I was here twice before. We, our delegation, are here to show our solidarity with you and to help you in any way we can. Thank you for your attention!“

Sambata dupa amiaza Piata Universitatii
Sâmbata dupa-amiaza am avut programata o întâlnire în Piața Universitații cu protectori ai animalelor și militanți. Circa 200 de oameni au raspuns apelului nostru. Poliția deasemenea. Aceasta a consemnat filmând.
Am înmânat micuței Sofia Agapi – celei care deja demonstrase curajos cu un placat de protest în Bruxelles, în fața Parlamentului European, împotriva uciderii câinilor din patria ei – un cațeluș de pluș cu o eșarfa roșie imprimata cu YES WE CARE. Ea este o mica eroina și simbolizeaza tineretul României traumatizat de violența extrema împotriva animalelor strazii.
Ceva mai târziu ne-am așezat cu toții la o runda de discuții. Într-o scurta expunere ne-am prezentat pe noi și chestiunile noastre:
Permiteti-ne sa ne prezentam si sa va explicam de ce ne aflam in Romania.
Suntem o delegatie de la un partid politic din Germania, denumit: „Partidul pentru Oameni , Mediu si Protectia animalelor“
Accentul muncii noastre politice consta in protejarea animalelor si drepturile animalelor. Ca si in alte tari avem o multime de partide politice dar niciunul nu este preocupat de bunastarea animalelor.
Consideram ca animalele ca si oamenii au dreptul la viata, dreptul de a nu fi lezate, abuzate, folosite, iar acum in Romania aceste drepturi sunt incalcate.
S-a dovedit ca numai programele de prindere, sterilizare si returnare pot rezolva problema cainilor comunitari. Guvernul Romaniei a ales sa-i omoare, lucru care s-a intamplat si in trecut. Cainii maidanezi au fost ucisi si in trecut, ceea ce nu a dus la rezolvarea problemei.
Romania este un stat al Uniunii Europene, tarile noaste au relatii de prietenie si este teribil sa stim ca intr-o tara apropiata sentimentele noastre fata de animale sunt ignorate. De asemenea stim ca multi romani simt la fel ca noi.
In ultimele luni multi oameni ne-au trimis e-mailuri, scrisori, am primit multe apeluri telefonice , oamenii ne implorau sa facem ceva pentru a opri uciderea si abuzul cainilor, caini care nu ai nicio vina.
Cainii exista pe aceasta planeta pentru ca oamenii au vrut acesti catei, ei au rezultat din domesticirea lupilor. Exista pentru ca noi am vrut asta si pentru ca exista, avem responsabilitatea sa avem grija de ei. Sa avem grija de ei cu siguranta nu inseamna sa-i omoram.
In Germania cele mai iubite animale sunt pisicile, pe locul doi fiind cateii. Multi nemti considera acesti cateii ca fiind membrii ai familiei. Ei sunt vazuti apoape ca niste copii, in Romania acesti „copii“ sunt infometati, mor de sete, sunt batuti pana la moarte, electrocutati, otraviti, toate acestea se intampla sub numele de eutanasie. Multi germani sufera, sunt traumatizati, si-au pierdut bucuria de a trai din cauza a ceea ce se intampla in Romania. Multi au dezvoltat tulburari psihice, depresii, multi sunt plini de manie deoarece convingerile noastre etice si morale sunt ignorate, sunt ignorate si calcate in picioare.
Au fost multe proteste in diferite orase din Germania pentru cateii din Romania. Multi catei au fost adusi in Germania, eu personal am adoptat 7 catei din Romania, in speranta ca o sa fac loc altor 7 catei care au nevoie de un loc sigur. Dar aceasta nu este solutia.
Suntem aici sa le aratam iubitorilor de catei din Romania ca luptam alaturi de ei impotriva acestor metode inumane si inutile. Vrem sa marim presiunea pusa pe Guvernul Roman pentru ca acest cosmar sa inceteze. Este dezgustator si nu este demn de un popor care vrea sa fie parte a Uniunii Europene. Opriti uciderea. Opriti aceasta masinarie de facut bani pentru firmele care isi castiga banii din cruzime. Romania trebuie sa fie o tara care detine standarde morale.
Stim ca multi Romani ne impartasesc punctul de vedere, 78% sunt impotriva omorarii. Am intalnit oameni minunati in Romania, in trecut am mai fost aici de 2 ori. Delegatia noasta se afla aici pentru a va arata ca suntem solidari cu voi si pentru a va ajuta cu ce putem. Va multumesc pentru atentie.
